Forrit Credit Union was created in 1936 as Portland Federal Employee's Credit Union. 45 founding members came together with the credit union philosophy of ‘people helping people' to form a financial cooperative that could help provide them with personalized banking solutions. The resulting credit union's mission — Forward Together. Each Member. Each Moment.— we view every moment as an opportunity to grow, and we won’t stop making tomorrow a better place for our members. Today, Forrit Credit Union continues to serve our members with a full spectrum of financial services. We provide our members with anytime-anywhere online and mobile banking, personal one-on-one service, 24-hour phone access, plus access to thousands of ATMs and shared branches. When you become a member of Forrit, you're joining a member-driven, proudly-Portland, and 100% cooperative credit union in the Pacific Northwest. We heard powerful words like these from community leaders, local entrepreneurs, and business owners at the 2nd Annual Latino Business Summit last Thursday in Washington County. The event brought our community together to celebrate, empower, and bring connection to Latino-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. 🫶

Forrit Credit Union was honored to attend this event alongside our credit union friends at InRoads Credit Union, Point West Credit Union, and Wauna Credit Union. It was a wonderful morning of collaboration, learning from each other's experiences, and engaging in thoughtful conversations about what it means to move forward together. 🎉

A heartfelt thank you to Washington County Chamber Of Commerce Inc and the Latino Business Advisory Council for making this incredible event possible. We’re grateful to support such an amazing event that believes in the power of connection, collaboration, and collective growth. 💫

In 1936, our 45 founding members believed that banking should be built around people helping people. 90 years later, that same belief continues to guide everything we do here at Forrit. And it’s our members who have made this journey possible. 💜
 
That’s nine decades spent serving our members, building community, and being there through generations of change. Since we first opened our doors, a lot has changed. But one thing that hasn’t is our commitment to YOU! ✨
