At the The Library of Congress, stories from across Europe now sit side by side — a shared gift marking an important moment in the lead-up to America’s 250th birthday.

As part of the EU Ambassadors Book Collection: “Words That Unite, Stories That Connect”, the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington, D.C. joined the European Union in the United States and fellow EU Member State embassies in donating a carefully selected book that reflects the spirit of each nation and its ties with the United States.

The Polish contribution could not have been more fitting.

We donated Alex Storozynski’s “The Peasant Prince”, a powerful biography of General Tadeusz Kościuszko — a figure who embodies the ideals that continue to bind Poland and the United States together: freedom, dignity, and civic courage.

Storozynski’s book brings Kościuszko to life not only as a hero of the American Revolution, but as a thinker ahead of his time — someone who understood that liberty is inseparable from justice and human dignity. It is a story rooted in history, yet deeply resonant today.

Yesterday’s ceremony at the Library of Congress marked more than a donation of books. It was simply a good moment — seeing these volumes gathered together, each carrying a piece of a national story, now becoming part of one shared collection in this remarkable place.

The Polish-American relationship has never really been just about diplomacy. It lives in people, in memories, in the stories families pass on, and in figures like Kościuszko, who still feel surprisingly present when we talk about freedom today.

As the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, we are reminded that strong relationships between countries are built in many ways — through politics and policy, yes, but also through culture, books, and the power of ideas.

Support the Polish Falcons Youth & Heritage Initiatives!

We’re excited to share an important opportunity to support the future of the Polish Falcons of America while preserving our rich heritage.

In 2026, we are expanding our impact through two key initiatives:

Youth Poland Tour – Giving young Falcons (ages 14–20) the chance to experience Poland firsthand, strengthening their cultural connection and leadership development.

Sokół Polski Preservation & Expansion – Sustaining our historic publication while enhancing its digital presence to reach future generations.

Donations will directly help:

Fund youth travel and cultural experiences in Poland

Maintain and modernize the Sokół Polski in both print and digital formats

Strengthen connections across generations of Falcons

We offer multiple sponsorship levels, with recognition ranging from online acknowledgments to prominent visibility in publications and at events.

Your support plays a vital role in preserving our legacy and inspiring the next generation of leaders.

To contribute, you can donate online at polishfalcons.org/donate or send a check to the Polish Falcons of America, Youth & Heritage Fund, 1016 Greentree Rd., Suite 201, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.

Thank you for helping us build a bridge between generations.
