What is Dollar Bank up to in the community?

💼 At the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southwest Virginia's Rosemont Club, our employees met with students at and talked about careers in banking.

🍐 We visited the The Chapel Pantry to help people shop the pantry, welcome guests, bag groceries and restock the shelves.

🦼 We were honored to present the F.R.E.E. Foundation of Virginia with a check, helping them continue to break down the barriers of accessibility and mobility for so many.

🫡 And members of the Lynnhaven Office in Virginia met with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) as part of national Military Monday, thanking them for their service and introducing them to our Military Banking program.

🥰 We’re STILL thinking about how much fun the August Wilson Birthday Celebration Block Party was. It's so heartwarming to see how the community shows up to celebrate the late Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright. The event featured over 215 vendors, children's activities, a foam party, lip sync battle, mac & cheese contest, poetry slam, food trucks, musical performances and more.

Additionally, in recognition of Small Business Month and to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the Block Party, Dollar Bank and August Wilson House collaborated on a vendor support initiative designed to reduce barriers for entrepreneurs — especially minority-owned small businesses — to participate in one of Pittsburgh’s most anticipated cultural celebrations. 💙

Here’s to many more decades of celebrating the legacy of August Wilson and bringing the community together! And shoutout to our employee volunteers who lended a hand at the Block Party.

The past few weeks, Dollar Bank employees have been focused on growth. 🌱

😃💬 As part of the Emerging Bank Leaders program in Virginia, our VP of Community Development James Hinton, Jr. spoke alongside the President and CEO of Virginia Bankers Association, Bruce Whitehurst. The program has 700 members across six regions, and James and Bruce’s insights helped contribute to the growth of future banking leaders!

♀️🎉 United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania hosted its Women United “Celebrate to Elevate” event with many Dollar Bank gals in attendance. The event brings together women and allies for an evening of connection, inspiration and celebrating, highlighting the collective power of women to drive meaningful change.

🌳🌱 Grow Pittsburgh got a visit from some Dollar Bank volunteers ready to hop into some gardening. They helped prepare the community garden at the Thelma Lovette YMCA, beautifying the outdoor patio for the senior center.

🍽️ We had a great time returning to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Northeast Ohio in Euclid, Ohio!

Lending a helping hand in the kitchen, Dollar Bank employees volunteered to prepare fresh snacks, lunch and dinners for families staying at the Ronald McDonald House and even had a little fun with the intercom announcements.

We’re honored to have the opportunity to regularly volunteer with Cleveland’s Ronald McDonald House. The work they do to ensure families have a place to stay while their child is receiving treatment at any Cleveland-area medical center is simply remarkable. And that only scratches the surface of the good they do in the community.
