💰 Have Assets… But Not Enough Monthly Income to Qualify for a Mortgage?

This is a financing option more buyers and Realtors should know about.

Freddie Mac has expanded its **Assets as Income** guidelines, which can allow eligible accumulated assets to be converted into qualifying monthly income for a mortgage.

Some of the highlights:

🏡 Primary homes, second homes **and investment properties** are eligible
💰 Minimum of $30,000 in net eligible assets
🎂 Age restrictions have been removed for eligible depository accounts and securities
📉 The calculation has improved — eligible assets are now divided by **180 instead of 240**, potentially creating more qualifying income
🔑 Available for purchases and no-cash-out refinances
📊 LTV limits now follow standard Freddie Mac requirements rather than the previous 80% maximum

This could be a great option for certain buyers who have built significant assets but don't have the traditional monthly income needed to qualify.
