This morning, we were honored to attend the State of Education Breakfast hosted by the Owasso Chamber of Commerce.

Our Interim Head of School, Dan Oller, joined fellow education leaders for a panel discussion focused on key issues impacting education today, including school funding, the growing role of artificial intelligence, and preparing students for success in the real world.

I read this from another agent and thought it was good to share.

I’ve come to realize that a lot of people view an insurance company like the government - “we pay in and when we need it, we take it out.”

The difference is this: insurance companies must make a profit to build and maintain the reserves needed for large disasters and expenses that go beyond projections.

A few important reminders (straight talk):

✔️ If you have a “take more than you pay in” mindset, you’ll usually end up in a higher risk category - and pay much more.
✔️ If you treat your policy like a maintenance contract (assuming wear and tear is covered), you’ll likely be disappointed.
✔️ If you assume insurance covers every situation, you’ll eventually find the exceptions.
✔️ If you switch carriers every 6–12 months just to chase a cheaper price, your insurance score can drop - and in the long run, you may pay more.

I don’t make the rules - I’m just telling you how they’re applied.

✅ Your best move: work with a trusted carrier and meet with your agent annually (or at least every two years) to stay current on your coverage and any changes in the market.
