Our offices will be closed on Monday in celebration of the American worker.

Labor Day is an annual celebration of the workers and their achievements in this great nation. Labor Day began in the late 1800’s at the height of the Industrial Revolution where the average laborer worked 12 hour days 7 days a week simply to eke out a basic living.

The first Labor Day parade was held in New York in 1882 which is pictured below.

We hope each of you not only have a great weekend, but also a wonderful Labor Day with your family and friends.

Reminder: Solicitors going door-to-door in Owasso must have a city permit and pass a nationwide background check. This includes roofers following recent hail storms.

Roofers are also required to be licensed in the State of Oklahoma. You can quickly verify a license through the Construction Industries Board at https://oklahoma.gov/cib/consumers/are-they-licensed.html

If you encounter an unlicensed or unwanted solicitor, gather as much information as possible (name, company, phone number, or description) and call the Owasso Police non-emergency line at 918-272-2244.

Residents on the No-Knock List should not be contacted. Exceptions apply to nonprofit groups such as schools, churches, youth organizations, and political candidates.
