The newly created space surrounding the roundabout is inviting, thoughtful, and full of possibility for our downtown.

Laura Lachance, former Downtown Development Director, shared a description that continues to resonate: Murphy’s living room.

A shout out to a dog day camp and boarding business that truly lives up to its name: Camp Happy Dog.

Last week, I walked over just before our good neighbors at Burger Boy opened at 11:00, and there was already a long line stretched out front.

Every person waiting was there for one more meal from this iconic restaurant on Andrews Road in Murphy.

To Trevor, Dayna, and the entire Burger Boy team, thank you for your many years of service to our greater community. You have been part of countless lunches, conversations, memories, and everyday moments for so many.

The reach of Cherokee Clay Food Alliance across our mountain communities is impressive to say the least.

From making local and regional foods more accessible, to supporting community gardens, to creating educational opportunities for youth, this organization continues to make a meaningful impact throughout our region.

A special thank you to Megan Lambert and the incredible team of staff and volunteers who help bring these efforts to life.

These photos were taken during a recent gathering in Brasstown, featuring the Tim Ryan Community Garden and the refrigerated food van that helps expand access to fresh food throughout our communities.

Volunteers are always welcome as this organization continues its important and ever-growing work.
