Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we rely on every day, but improper storage, charging, or handling can increase the risk of overheating and fire.🔋

Taking a few simple precautions—such as keeping batteries away from extreme temperatures and safely disposing of damaged batteries, can help protect your home and family!

Before your kids head out the door, make sure they know how to get to school safely, no matter how they are getting there. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

🔵Walking to school? Stick to sidewalks, cross only at crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers before stepping into the street, and always walk in a group when possible.

🔵Riding a bike? A properly fitted helmet is non-negotiable. Remind students to ride on the right side of the road with traffic, come to a complete stop before crossing, and choose a route with minimal intersections and light traffic.

🔵Taking the bus? Students should stand at least 6 feet back from the curb when waiting for a bus, wait for the bus to come to a complete stop before boarding, and never walk behind or in front of a bus without making eye contact with the driver first.

🔵Getting dropped off? If you drive your child to school, obey school zone speed limits, follow your school's drop-off procedure, and never pass a bus that is loading or unloading children.

🔵Teen drivers? Review the basics of safe driving. This includes, but is not limited to, having all passengers wear seatbelts, putting devices away while driving, and driving the speed limit.

We hope you find these tips helpful as students transition back to school. As always, if you have any needs or questions, do not hesitate to reach out to our team. We are happy to help.

As we move through hurricane season, our team at Kim Osman Insurance Group wants to remind our community how important it is to review your insurance coverage before a storm is on the radar.

A few key areas to look at:
• Hurricane deductibles – Understand what triggers yours and how much you’d be responsible for if your home is affected.
• Flood and windstorm coverage – Flood insurance is separate, and some policies limit windstorm protection. Make sure there are no gaps.
• Claims preparation – Document your property now, then take photos and videos of any damage before cleanup. Save all receipts for repairs.

If you’re unsure whether your current coverage is enough, we’re here to help you walk through your options. Reach out to our team anytime.

As families prepare for a new school year and communities adjust to shifting traffic patterns, our team is helping raise awareness for National Traffic Awareness Month with a few timely reminders.

Back-to-school season brings earlier mornings, busier intersections, and more young pedestrians on the move. A little extra patience and awareness can go a long way in keeping everyone safe.

Whether you're a parent navigating drop-off lines or a driver sharing the road with school buses, staying alert and following posted guidelines helps protect the most vulnerable people in our neighborhoods.

If you find this helpful, share it with someone who could use the reminder. And if you ever have questions about safety or coverage, our team is always here to help.

As families get ready for a new school year, it’s a great time to make sure your student has the insurance protection they need. College life changes quickly, and coverage needs can shift just as fast.

Here are a few important areas to revisit before move-in day:
• Personal property coverage for items taken to campus
• Auto insurance updates if your student is bringing a car or leaving one at home
• Liability protection for dorms or off‑campus housing

A quick review now can offer real peace of mind once the semester begins. Our team at Kim Osman Insurance Group is here to walk through your current coverage and help determine whether any updates or add‑ons might be a good fit.

If you have questions or want a personalized review, we’d love to help.
