🚨 SCAM ALERT — PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨
We recently learned that someone was impersonating a Bruno Bail Bonds agent and attempting to collect money from a customer.
This individual actually arranged to meet them in the parking lot of OUR office, while wearing a COVID-style face mask, and attempted to collect a payment.
That should immediately raise a red flag.
If you are at Bruno Bail Bonds, there is absolutely no reason one of our agents would need to conduct your business in the parking lot when our office is right there.
Posting bail is a process. There is paperwork. There is a contract. There are signatures. Then there is payment.
Please protect yourself and your money.
Bruno Bail Bonds will conduct business with you inside our office or at a police department/law-enforcement facility.
Missouri bail bond agents are required to be licensed. They must also have valid identification. ASK TO SEE IT. Make sure the name and identity of the person standing in front of you match who they claim to be.
If someone refuses to show you identification or gets defensive because you want to verify who they are, DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY.
And please trust your instincts.
If something seems shady, weird, rushed, secretive, or just doesn’t feel right — STOP.
Ask questions. Call the company directly. Verify the agent. Look up the case yourself on Missouri Case.net. Many police departments and detention centers also provide current inmate information online or can confirm whether someone is actually in custody.
A legitimate bail bond agent will understand why you want to verify who you’re dealing with.
Do whatever you need to do to make sure you’re giving your money to a legitimate company and a licensed agent — not a scammer.
