Debt collectors PAY the credit bureaus to receive daily monitoring and notification when you apply for credit cards, loans, etc. if you wonder why that old collection / charge off account popped back up on your credit report after you got it removed and then you went to apply for funding, this could be why. If your goal is to apply for a loan, it’s best to take care of these accounts, within reason, via a pay-for-delete if the debt collector allows it. You can always ask a lender FIRST what would disqualify you for funding so that you have a better idea of what and how to dispute.
