Helena is growing, but at what cost?

As home values continue to rise, we need to think about what that means for the people who live and work here. Housing affordability isn't just about real estate prices. It's about creating opportunities for young families, first-time buyers, teachers, and the workforce that keeps our community running.

Growth is inevitable, but thoughtful planning and responsible development need to include more diverse and affordable housing options. Townhomes, condos, smaller homes/ADUs, higher-density developments, and alternative housing solutions all have a role in addressing our housing needs.

Not everyone needs or wants a traditional single-family home, and our housing options should reflect that.

This is an important conversation for our community to be having.
