Big news! We are excited to share that we have filed a 5% average rate reduction to go into effect July 1, 2026, if approved by the state.

What does this mean? It means the lowest rates in our history for more than 24,000 Montana businesses and some 250,000 employees across the state of Montana.

As Montana’s only non-profit workers’ compensation insurance company, MSF has not raised rates in 20 years. In fact, our rates have decreased 64.6% in that time.
