Vocal was founded in the fall of 1954 by a group of 8 teachers who gathered and applied for a charter to start a credit union. The goal was to provide a trust worthy member owned business that gives a variety of competitive, stable and personable financial services. In 1982, membership was expanded to school employees and their families within the 3 counties of Lewis & Clark, Jefferson and Broadwater. In 2000, the charter was gain modified to include residents of all counties. Today, membership includes anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the 3 counties.

Today marks Dallas Rasmussen’s first official day as President and CEO of Vocal Credit Union. 🎉

Dallas brings more than 20 years of financial industry experience and has served Vocal since 2017, most recently as Executive Vice President. His leadership, member-first mindset, and commitment to the credit union movement make this an exciting next chapter for Vocal.

Construction is still underway at our Helena Main Branch, and we appreciate your continued patience as we move through Phase 2 of the remodel.

A few reminders before you stop by:
• The loan side of the branch is closed during this phase
• A loan officer is still available to serve members
• Vocal is no longer open on Saturdays
• Current hours remain Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
• The full remodel is expected to be completed in October 2026

Vocal Credit Union is marking an important leadership transition.

Eddie Black will retire from his role as President and CEO after 16 years of dedicated service to Vocal Credit Union. Dallas Rasmussen will step into the role effective October 1, bringing more than 20 years of financial industry experience and a strong commitment to Vocal’s members and communities.
