Vocal was founded in the fall of 1954 by a group of 8 teachers who gathered and applied for a charter to start a credit union. The goal was to provide a trust worthy member owned business that gives a variety of competitive, stable and personable financial services. In 1982, membership was expanded to school employees and their families within the 3 counties of Lewis & Clark, Jefferson and Broadwa

ter. In 2000, the charter was gain modified to include residents of all counties. Today, membership includes anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in the 3 counties.

Big news for our members and our community. 💚

Vocal Credit Union has officially received a Low-Income Designation (LID) from the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) and the State of Montana. This recognition reflects our ongoing commitment to providing accessible, affordable financial services for individuals and families across the communities we serve.

What this means moving forward:
✅ More opportunities to bring in resources that support members
✅ Greater flexibility to expand community-focused programs
✅ Continued focus on affordable lending, financial education, and local outreach
