Kentucky Public Pensions Authority

Kentucky Public Pensions Authority This is the official page of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA). The first actuarial valuation of SPRS was conducted June 30, 1959.

Currently, KPPA serves over 433,000 active, inactive and retired members and administers approximately $26.9 billion in assets. The Kentucky Employees Retirement System (KERS) was created in 1956 by the Kentucky General Assembly in order to supplement the benefits provided by Social Security. When the first actuarial valuation was completed June 30, 1957, there were 16,000 employees participating

in KERS and assets of $2.8 million. The State Police Retirement System (SPRS) and County Employees Retirement System (CERS) were established in 1958. No actuarial valuation of CERS was conducted until June 30, 1960 because the statutes did not authorize retirements from the system prior to July 1, 1960. On June 30, 1960, there were 68 counties and 2,617 employees participating in CERS, and SPRS included 415 uniformed state troopers.

Beware of Financial Account Scams
Cyber criminals are pretending to be financial institutions and creating fake websites to steal your login info. They often send texts, emails, or calls saying there’s “fraud” on your account and push you to click a link. Once they get in, they move your money fast and may lock you out.

Protect Yourself:
• Don’t share personal info
• Check your accounts often
• Use strong passwords + keep MFA on
• Only log in using your saved bookmarks
• Skip search engine links and ads
• Double check URLs and email senders
• Don’t trust caller ID—hang up and call your bank directly
• Legitimate financial institutions will never ask for your password or codes

Stay alert and keep your accounts secure. Share to help others stay safe!
