The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies responded to a home on Pharsalia Road on Tuesday to assist bail bondsman Cecily Barmore, the daughter of television personality Duane “Dog the Bounty Hunter” Chapman.

‼️SCAM ALERT FOR FLORIDA FAMILIES WITH INCARCERATED LOVED ONES‼️

There have been multiple scams reported across Florida targeting family members of incarcerated individuals.

One common scam involves someone calling and claiming to be a deputy or jail employee. The caller states that the inmate does not need a bond but must have an ankle monitor to be released. They then request payment for the ankle monitor and instruct family members to send money through Zelle, Cash App, Western Union, or other electronic payment methods.

Please be aware that the Broward County Jail, as well as other legitimate correctional facilities, will not call family members and request payment for an ankle monitor or inmate release through these methods.

This scam has affected multiple families in Broward County, Palm Beach County, and other counties throughout Florida.

If you receive a call like this, do not send money. Contact the jail directly or speak with a licensed local bail bondsman to verify the inmate’s status and obtain accurate information.
