According to PCS Network, today’s housing market has a lot more strength behind it than the headlines may suggest.

The article references Federal Reserve data showing homeowner equity is near an all-time high, with home values at $47.9 trillion, homeowner equity at $34.1 trillion, and mortgage debt at $14.4 trillion.

So, while record mortgage debt can sound concerning at first, the full picture tells a very different story than 2008. Homeowners today have significantly more equity, which puts many in a much stronger financial position.
