No one likes planning for the worst. It's uncomfortable. It can feel morbid. Most people would rather avoid the conversation altogether.
But I've learned that planning for the worst is actually one of the greatest acts of love we can give the people we care about most.
I have life insurance for one simple reason: my family.
If something happened to me tomorrow, I want my husband and kids to have the freedom to grieve without also having to worry about finances. I want them to stay in our home. I want my kids to continue playing sports, participating in activities they love, and one day go to college. I want them to be able to keep living the life we've worked so hard to build.
Life insurance doesn't take away the heartbreak of losing someone. But it can remove the financial burden that so often follows.
That's why I have life insurance.
And that's why I sell life insurance.
Because every family deserves the peace of mind that comes from knowing they'll be okay, even on their hardest day.

I was a senior in high school when the planes hit the Twin Towers. It was the beginning of the school day, and I had "senior privs" which gave me a free hour. I remember running to the library because it was the only place in the building where I could get access to the news.
We watched the events of that morning unfold and struggled to comprehend what we were seeing. I remember turning to someone nearby and saying, "This is our Pearl Harbor."
Twenty-five years later, the memories of that day remain vivid. We remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the heroes who ran toward danger when others were running away.
But I also remember something else: how our nation came together in the days, weeks, and months that followed. We supported one another. We showed compassion, resilience, and a shared sense of purpose. Differences seemed smaller, and our common humanity felt larger.
In my profession, I see every day how important it is to protect what matters most and to help people rebuild when life takes an unexpected turn. The lessons of 9/11 remind us that while tragedy can test us, it can also reveal the strength, courage, and kindness within our communities.
Today, we honor those we lost, express gratitude for those who served and sacrificed, and hold onto the hope that we can continue to come together when it matters most.
