Celebrating the Next Generation of Healthcare!

A look back at our recent CRNA Happy Hour! We loved teaming up with Abbott Northwestern Hospital students to share about the tools and expertise they need to launch their full-time careers with total financial confidence.

Cheers to Anna Zimmerman for planning a beautiful event, and Luna & The Bear - Kitchen & Libation House for being fantastic hosts!

Our team took a break from the day to day and got out of the office for some team bonding at ProKART Indoors Burnsville. Things got competitive fast, the driving was maybe a little too aggressive at times, and there were plenty of laughs along the way.

It was a great way to spend time together and strengthen our team outside of work. Everyone had a blast, even if some minor rib bruising is still being talked about šŸ˜….

All in all, it was a successful outing and a fun reminder that the best teams are built both in and out of the office.

This spring, we celebrated Barb’s 5-year work anniversary, and it’s the perfect time to recognize the incredible impact she’s made on our team.

If we had to sum up Barb in one word, it would be meticulous. She’s dialed in, detail-oriented, and consistently keeps everything running like a well oiled machine. She’s also uniquely Barb; fearless when it comes to stepping up for the team, even if storms and bugs aren’t exactly her favorite things.

What many outside the team may not know is that Barb is an uber athlete, taking on triathlons, all while balancing life with her physician husband and their young son. Her drive, discipline, and resilience show up in everything she does.

Barb is always willing to step in, explain the ā€œwhy,ā€ and help new hires get up to speed. Truly a silent do er, Barb does so much behind the scenes that many don’t even realize how much they rely on her.

As she celebrates this milestone, we hope Barb knows just how grateful we are for her readiness to jump in whenever something is needed, her willingness to go the extra mile, and the steady excellence she brings every day.

Thank you, Barb, for being such an incredible addition to the team. We’re so thankful to have you and excited to see what the years ahead bring!

Don’t default on your Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) strategy.

For many new physicians, PSLF is the single most effective way to manage the cost of medical education. However, the path to forgiveness is narrow and requires proactive management starting in the first month of residency.

To ensure your residency years count:

1. Employer Certification: Confirm your hospital’s non-profit status immediately upon hiring.

2. Plan Selection: Enroll in a qualifying Income-Driven Repayment (IDR) plan; avoid the "Tiered Standard" default.

3. The "RAP" Strategy: Understand how the 2026 Resident Assistance Program (RAP) integration affects your monthly cash flow.

Residency is exhausting enough without realizing three years in that you’re back to square one with your debt. It’s worth the 20 minutes now to double-check your plan selection before the July 1st start date.

As the Class of 2026 prepares for their July 1st start dates, they are the first cohort to navigate the full implementation of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).

Key shifts include:

• Consolidation Windows: Changes to how interest capitalization is handled during the transition from student to resident.

• Funding Caps: New limits on federal borrowing that may impact those considering fellowships or further specialization.

• Grandfathering: Identifying which existing loans maintain their original borrower benefits versus those that fall under the new 2026 standards.

Our team specializes in the unique debt-to-income ratios of the medical community. We’re happy to chat with you and answer any questions we can!

We stepped away from our desks this quarter and came together for a little team fun. There’s no better way to do that than with a game show and dinner at West End!

The competition was strong, but the win ultimately came down to the well-known favorite, Plinko!

Congratulations to our champions: John Arms, Noah Retka, Justin Clark and Lindsay Kashdan for taking home the bragging rights!

We’re grateful for a team that works hard, laughs together, and makes time to connect outside the office. Moments like these are what make our culture special.

Texas, we had a ball!

The Physician Wealth Partners team just wrapped up an incredible Regional Meeting in Arlington! We balanced the business with plenty of Texas fun – the guys bought some new cowboy boots – and we even got to take a few swings in the batting cages at Globe Life Field.

Between the meetings and batting practice, it was all about connection. We spent the week:
• Attending (and presenting for Sarah!) inspiring sessions.
• Networking with various Home Office teams.
• Sharing meals and ideas with fellow advisors.
• Catching up with the DI Committee (of which Sarah has been a staple for about 4 years!).

We headed home with full hearts. There’s something special about getting the whole crew together to recharge and refocus on how we serve our amazing clients.

We were honored to have one of our own Sarah Foehrenbacher take the stage at the recent Regional Meeting in Arlington, Texas to discuss our specialized approach to the medical market.

Partnering with Rick Vogt from the Home Office, the presentation highlighted a critical reality: Physicians face a unique set of financial hurdles. From late-career starts to complex disability needs, the "standard" financial plan simply doesn't cut it.

We know our clients have some of the most demanding schedules in the world. They deal with life-and-death situations daily. While financial planning isn't life or death, the consequences of a poor plan are significant.
At Physician Wealth Partners, our firm's philosophy is to bear the weight of the planning process, so our clients don't have to. Our job is to take the stress out of the numbers so physicians can find more time for what matters most.

Many thanks to the Home Office team for hosting us!

Financial Advisor Cam Veenbass and I recently had the pleasure to present to a group of orthodontic residency students at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio.

We shared about managing student loan debt and how to financially plan for life after residency. We hope they walked away with some valuable information to help them on their journey.

We love sharing what we know. If you’re interested in scheduling a presentation, we’d be happy to get something set up. Just reach out and say hi!

Physician Wealth Partners Co-Founder and Wealth Management Advisor Sarah Foehrenbacher recently returned home from speaking about disability insurance at the Affinity Summit in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she presented to other Northwestern Mutual advisors.

She shared how eye opening it is to see that the probability of needing disability insurance is around 25%, compared to just 2% for life insurance -- yet most people don’t plan for it. We’re passionate about not only educating individuals on how to protect their income and future no matter the circumstance but also guiding them through the steps to make it happen.
