The Cities for Financial Empowerment Fund (“CFE”) owns common law certification mark rights in the “Bank On” seal (the “Certification Mark”). As the provider of a banking account that has been certified as meeting CFE's Bank On National Account Standards (the "Standards"), you (“Licensee”) and your agents are hereby licensed to use the Certification Mark, a digital copy of which is provided herewith. By use of the Certification Mark, Licensee agrees to the following terms:

Licensee acknowledges that CFE owns the entire right, title and interest to the Certification Mark. CFE hereby grants to Licensee a non-exclusive, non-assignable, non-sublicensable license to use the Certification Mark in association with the provision of the First Choice Checking account (the "Account") to the public. The term of this license shall commence on the date the Account was certified as meeting the Standards and shall terminate on the last day of the latest calendar year displayed on the Certification Mark. Licensee is not entitled to use the Certification Mark other than under the terms of this license. Licensee acknowledges that license rights to use this Certification Mark are contingent upon the Account’s continued compliance with the terms upon which certification was determined and granted. Relevant changes to either the Account or to such certification standards will occasion a subsequent determination as to the grant of this License. By acceptance of this license, Licensee agrees that CFE may monitor the provision of services provided by Licensee in association with the Certification Mark and that, in the event CFE determines that the Account does not meet the Standards, CFE may terminate this license upon 30 days’ notice. Upon termination of this license, Licensee shall immediately cease to use or display the Certification mark for any purpose whatsoever. By acceptance of this license, Licensee agrees that (a) the Certification Mark is a valid certification mark and that CFE has the sole right, subject to such licenses that may have been granted, to control the use of the Certification Mark and (b) any use of the Certification Mark License has made in the past or will make in the future will not create in Licensee any right, title or interest in the Certification Mark, but such uses shall inure to the benefit of CFE and (c) Licensee will not make any material changes to the appearance of the mark without explicit approval of the CFE Fund.

SNEAK PEEK – There’s some exciting news brewing out of Michigan.

Each year, The Detroit News announces some very significant Michigan leaders for their impact on the community. It’s official that our own Chairman and CEO, Kenneth Kelly, will be a co-honoree acknowledged ceremonially in June.

When asked, Chairman Kelly unpretentiously expressed deep appreciation for the recognition by the Detroit News and the Detroit Regional Chamber.

Our team is incredibly proud to congratulate Timothy Ha, Chief Investment Officer & Treasurer at First Independence Bank, on his appointment as President of the Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APACC) Foundation!👏

Tim’s , commitment to service, and dedication to strengthening communities continue to make a meaningful impact both inside and outside of the banking industry. In this new role, he will help lead fundraising and strategic initiatives supporting educational programming, workforce development, entrepreneurship, scholarships, and mentorship opportunities across Michigan’s Asian Pacific American business community.

We are honored to have been recognized by of Southeastern Michigan this week at the 2026 Volunteer National Awards Ceremony as a Friend of Girl Scouting!!

Our team was proud to be at Oakland University to accept this award and celebrate the incredible work being done to empower the next generation.

This recognition reflects the impact of our through the Pillar and Mobile STEAM Lab, where we are committed to equipping girls with the knowledge, confidence, and practical economic skills they need to succeed.

Because of this work, girls across our communities are gaining tools that will support them not only today, but throughout their futures as informed leaders and empowered decision makers.
