We had a visitor at our yard on Sunday!

It has been a while since we have seen a blue jay and seeing the colors was spectacular! When people who "bird watch" and talk about the majesty of birds, I see it now more than I used to or appreciated in the past. Maybe that means I am getting old?!

It got me thinking to the verses in Matthew that talk about God taking care of the birds of the air and how much more valuable we are to him than a bird! The verses come around the idea of anxiety and Jesus talks or commands us to not be anxious! To me, anxiety is rooted sometimes in a lack of control and the desire to control outcomes. The older I have gotten I have come to realize I control very little. In fact, a wise man once told me we can only control our attitude and activity! So true!

I pray I live a life as free as this bird! I pray I can fly around and find just what I need when needed! With God at the wheel, I feel as much freedom as the birds feel when they soar above the ground!
