Recently, supervisors and managers from Lawson's Finest Liquids joined Rhino Foods for a day of connection, collaboration, and community.

Both organizations have created leadership cohorts that bring supervisors and managers together to learn from one another, share best practices, provide feedback, and help shape new programs, systems, and ways of working. Bringing our two groups together created an opportunity to take that learning beyond our own organizations.

Throughout the day, leaders from Lawson’s and Rhino shared experiences, exchanged ideas, and discussed what strong leadership looks like in their workplaces. The Lawson’s team also toured Rhino Foods to see our operations and processes in action.

We ended the day by putting collaboration into action through two community service projects: preparing a meal for Spectrum Youth and Family Services and assembling winter-ready care packages for COTS VT.

It was an inspiring day of learning from other like-minded leaders, building new connections, and giving back to the community we all share.

On Thursday, October 8, Jennifer Fitzgerald, Amber Hayes, Hope Simpson, and Jessica Redmond represented Rhino Foods at Women Can Do at Vermont State University’s Randolph campus!

Organized by Vermont Works for Women, Women Can Do is a career exploration event that gives high school girls hands-on exposure to STEM and skilled trades careers.

More than 400 students stopped by the Rhino Foods table to learn how we make our delicious cookie dough, test for harmful bacteria, taste-test for quality, and work safely throughout the process.

It was a great opportunity to share what we do at Rhino Foods and give students a taste of the many career possibilities in food manufacturing. A great day all around!

The Rhino crew spent some time at the King Street Center cooking and serving family dinner! It was a great evening getting to share a meal and spend time with some of our Burlington neighbors.

Thanks to the King Street Center for having us and for all the wonderful work you do for local youth and families!

Recently, Rhino Foods’ Learning & Development Manager, Jessica Redmond, presented “From Data to Action” to nearly 60 HR professionals at the Vermont SHRM Conference.

Attendees explored how Rhino transforms engagement survey data into meaningful action by partnering with leadership teams, managers, and supervisors. Grounded in human-centered design principles, the process ensures that the people most affected by workplace decisions have a voice, and can focus their efforts on the areas they can directly influence. Thank you to Vermont SHRM and everyone who joined the conversation!

Lauren McBride, our Vice President of People & Culture, recently represented Rhino Foods at the Shift Work Forward Conference in Albuquerque, a national gathering focused on better jobs, stronger workplaces, and creating more opportunity for employees.

She joined the conversation with a session on job quality and shared some of what we’ve learned at Rhino through our Recovery-Friendly Workplace practices, Employee Support Coordinator, employee listening, and the ongoing work of building a workplace that supports people both in and outside of work.

And because learning doesn’t only happen inside the conference room, Lauren and Mikael, a member of the P&C team, took some time to experience the local history and culture while they were there. A few snapshots from a week full of sharing, learning, and bringing some new ideas back to Vermont!

Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) Volunteer Day had Rhinos out and about all over the community!

Our teams spent the day lending a hand at three local organizations: Loading donations, stocking shelves, and tidying up at the ReStore (Green Mountain Habitat ReStores); cleaning up North Beach; and spending time at the Intervale, where we learned more about the work supporting Vermont’s agricultural community.

It was a pretty great excuse to step away from our usual workday, get outside, and spend some time giving back together. Thanks to VBSR and all of the organizations that welcomed our crews!

A great day for a great partnership! Our Rhino leadership team spent Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility (VBSR) Volunteer Day alongside the Ben & Jerry's leadership team at the Intervale Center, where Executive Director Travis Marcotte shared more about the Intervale’s work supporting Vermont’s agricultural community. Then we got our hands dirty with Natural Areas Stewardship Coordinator Duncan Murdoch, helping pull invasive knotweed around the property. After volunteering, we headed back to Rhino for lunch and brought even more Rhinos into the mix, with employees from production, distribution, and R&D joining the conversation.

Getting to spend time together outside of our usual day-to-day, give back to our community, and then welcome the Ben & Jerry’s crew back to Rhino made for a pretty great VBSR Volunteer Day. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
