🔍Do Tariffs Affect Your Insurance?🤔

“Tariff” is the buzzword of the day. But whether you know all about it or are just learning, tariffs are the biggest thing in financial and economic news.

Kind of. Let’s break down how they might change insurance for the economy - and for you:

1️⃣ Price Increases - Tariffs could drive up costs for vehicles and homes. Though replacement costs help determine insurance values, market changes could affect new cars, especially. 🚗🏠

2️⃣ Repair Costs - Higher prices for parts and materials could make repairs more expensive—this might lead to more costly claims and impact the risk insurance companies are willing to take. 🔧💰

3️⃣ Claims & Premiums - More expensive claims could result in higher premiums. According to the APCIA, “Given insurers’ expenses beyond the direct cost of claims, the total premium impact will likely be higher.” 💸

The situation is changing day to day. But no matter what happens, we will continue to do what is best for you and your policies, making sure that you have the best coverage we can offer at the best value. 🤝

🚴‍♂️ Do I Need E-Bike Insurance? ⚡

You’ve finally got it, the E-Bike you’ve been looking for. You’re cruising uphill like a pro and laughing as you make your way around town with ease. 😎

And it’s insured just like your bicycle. Right? 🤔

Well, mostly. But that isn’t always a good thing. 🛡️

Your regular homeowners policy may not cover your E-Bike in all circumstances, especially if you’re in an accident while riding. Sometimes, even theft may not always be covered. 🚫

That’s why special E-Bike insurance exists. It can cover you for damage you cause while riding, for damage to your bike in an accident, or if it is stolen or vandalized. 🚲

And best of all, it is usually much less costly than an auto insurance policy. 💰

So ride on in style. Just call us to make sure you’re covered along the way. 📞

Summer travel may come with higher costs this year, as airfare, gas, lodging, dining, and activities all reflect broader price pressures.

Average domestic airfare is about $383, up $89 from last year, while gas prices have risen $1.42 per gallon from a year earlier.

Other travel-related expenses are also higher. Activities are up by more than 5.5%, lodging costs are up by 4.3%, and dining out prices are up by more than 3.6%.

Even with higher prices, many Americans are still taking trips, though some may choose destinations closer to home to help manage overall costs.

These trends show how inflation can affect more than everyday essentials — it can also shape how households approach travel, leisure, and seasonal spending.

Renters insurance is significantly less expensive than homeowners insurance, yet less than half of all renters say they have it. If a tenant’s property is damaged in a fire or other disaster, the landlord’s insurance won’t cover replacement costs.

📝 Basic Claims Tips 🚗🏠

No one wants to “use” their insurance because that means a claim has happened. But unfortunately, accidents do occur, and many of us will have to turn to our policy for help when one comes our way. 🌧️

Claims may vary depending on whether they’re auto or home, but here are some general tips to help you navigate through a claim, no matter where life has thrown a bump in the road:

📸 Document with photos, videos, and lists of any damaged property.
📞 Notify your insurance company ASAP.
💼 Keep records of any expenses, receipts, or notes.

And, of course, let us know so that we can help. Having an independent insurance agent means you never have to go through a claim alone. 🤝
