Guys it’s finally here, and I apologize for putting you through this as your mortgage broker!
Here is thest news I have read in weeks!! 🗞️
🚨 Big News for the Mortgage Industry 🚨
After 8 years of lobbying, the Homebuyers Privacy Protection Act is finally going into effect.
This law targets one of the most frustrating things borrowers experience when applying for a mortgage: trigger leads.
Here’s what happens today:
A buyer applies for a mortgage with a lender they trust.
Within minutes… their credit inquiry is sold by the credit bureaus.
Then the phone starts blowing up.
📞 30… 50… sometimes 100+ calls from lenders they've never heard of.
Companies buy these leads through services connected to the credit bureaus like:
• Experian
• Equifax
• TransUnion
And lead resellers such as:
• LendingTree
• LowerMyBills
• Bankrate
• QuoteWizard
• SmartFinancial
• various call-center mortgage shops
Consumers think their lender sold their information.
But the truth is — the credit bureaus did.
The new law will restrict credit bureaus from selling a consumer’s data after a mortgage credit pull without the consumer’s permission.
That means:
✔ Less spam calls
✔ Better privacy for homebuyers
✔ A better experience for clients working with trusted lenders
For those of us who work hard to earn referrals from Realtors and past clients, this is a huge step in the right direction.
Finally! Sign sealed done! God Is Great!
Shout out to Mr. Robby Sampson for the great information!
