It was such an honor to celebrate the jersey retirement for Mr Tommy Woods! One of our very own from Alcoa (Hall High School). It was an especially proud moment to be able to see my dad, Coach Jim Riddick there to honor Tommy’s special day! My dad, being an Alcoa and ETSU standout, was the catalyst that helped Tommy be the first African American player in ETSU history. Dad had the honor of coaching Tommy in his freshman year at ETSU. Seeing these two heroes expressing their love and respect for each other and being together again was more than special.
