🍪 The cookies have arrived! 🍪

A big thank you to Campbell Tyson Chartered Accountants for putting together such a sweet fundraiser in support of the refurbishment of the birthing suites at Pukekohe Hospital.
We grabbed a bag of Cookie Time Rookie Cookies for every member of our team, supporting a great local cause while keeping staff morale (and sugar levels) nice and high.

This one is particularly close to home for us, with many of our staff and clients having utilised the Pukekohe birthing unit over the years.
It’s a fantastic local facility that has been part of the beginning of so many families in our community.

It’s awesome to see local businesses getting behind projects that directly support local families.

Now the real challenge… making these cookies last longer than one afternoon.

“The future is full of opportunity for those prepared for it.”

One of the messages that stuck with me from the AIA Summit – Built for Better.

Some great speakers throughout the day, but two standouts for me were Frances Valintine and Cameron George.

Frances gave us a pretty eye opening look at the future of NZ declining fertility rates, the changing demographics of our future clients with 43% of Aucklanders born overseas (in 2023), and the scale of “The Great Wealth Transfer.”

A good reminder that the people we employ and do business with in 10–20 years will look very different to today. The opportunity is there for businesses prepared for it.

Cameron George spoke about people, culture and brand, something "The Wahs" are doing pretty well right now!

One simple takeaway really stuck with me. He and Andrew Webster moved their offices so every player and staff member walks past them each morning and afternoon.

Why? So they can see their people, talk to them and genuinely understand how they’re doing each day. People are the strongest asset in any business. Culture isn’t something you can buy, it’s built every day.

Plenty of good ideas to bring back into our own business to help better serve our clients.

Thanks to AIA NZ for hosting a great day and for the ongoing support as one of our insurance partners.

A new era for The Advisory.

There have been a few changes, so here's everything in one place.

We've said goodbye to Claire McArthur and Aliesha Rowe. Claire is stepping away to focus on her family and a new venture, with Aliesha joining her.

Both have been valued members of our team, and we wish them every success for what is to come.

We've also welcomed four new people. Riti Arora, Monica Webb and Dean Madsen have joined our mortgage team, bringing more than 70 years of banking and lending experience between them.

Brandon Baxter joins as our new Insurance Adviser, based at our new satellite office in Waikato. And Joey Gregory is now providing KiwiSaver advice alongside fellow Director Alex Nicholson.

Mortgages, insurance and KiwiSaver, all under one roof.

A big thank you to the team at AIA NZ for dropping off these fruit and veggie boxes for our team this week!

The team had a fantastic day at Whangamata golf course on Friday for the Smoky Pallet Invitational 🏌🏻

Our sponsored hole had a major prize for a hole in one, with 4 golf carts and $15,000 cash up for grabs.

Alex, Shannen and Devin spent the day connecting with participants and cheering them on as they stepped up to the tee, while Joey was out on course testing his metal.
