Good to catch up with Ollie from omeestates Estates today!

When he's not busy selling or viewing properties, Ollie is usually sleeping or playing padel. We originally met at a standard networking event, and now we always try to make it to the more fun, active ones together.

Ollie already has a friend who does mortgages, but that doesn't mean we can't get along, there are always complex cases that crop up where he or his usual broker might need a bit of extra support, and that's exactly where Mountain Financial can step in.

Great to have in the office today!

According to Pepper's own case study, 16 million people in the UK have some type of adverse credit profile. How crazy is that? But when you think about it, it's so easily done! missing a payment on a credit card or utility bill, or dealing with something wrongly reported on your file.

Adverse lending in the UK is on the rise, and Pepper sits pretty well in the market with plans taking clients from just 6 months after a default or CCJ date.

Tom even had a case with a £300,000 CCJ over 24 months old that went through with no problem on their 24-month product. Crazy numbers, but it just shows how they take a pragmatic view where other lenders wouldn't even take a sniff.

Now for the important stuff... Tom scored a pretty poor 43 on the dartboard, while Dianne (his boss) bagged a nice 79 on her very first go! To top it all off, both of them turned up to the office with zero snacks and zero energy drinks.... Other BDMS/Account managers please take note!

A huge thank you to the team at Velocity Bridging for having our very own Ste at the Liverpool game!

Chris hosted him and it was a fantastic day out. Beyond the match, it’s always brilliant catching up with the team and hearing about how Velocity works. Having their own dedicated pot of funds means they can get stuck into a deal and act quickly, and with them being based in Liverpool, they love local development work and know the area inside out.

With the market being how it is right now, working with the absolute correct finance lender for the specific deal you're doing makes all the difference.

Oh, and as a bonus, Chris is actually dangerous at darts, so he will definitely be heading into the office soon to come and challenge for that top spot on the board! 🎯

Great to welcome Lawrence and Mark from Coventry Building Society to the office.

Coventry are hands down one of my favourite lenders in the UK market,slick systems, top-tier staff, and consistently fast turnaround times.

Now that we’re officially trading as Mountain Financial, having Lawrence Farrall on hand as our dedicated local BDM, backed by Mark Simpkins as Regional Manager, makes a massive difference. In this industry, having approachable BDMs who actually pick up the phone and talk through case merits is how good deals get across the line.

Face-to-face catch-ups are also the best way to uncover common-sense lending solutions. I literally had a live deal lined up for another lender on a slightly higher rate because the client isn’t an owner-occupier, but is an experienced landlord purchasing her second buy-to-let. While standard policy normally pushes back on non-homeowners, Mark pointed out that because she already owns an investment property, if it scores well on credit, it's a file they can manually review and look to support.

Of course, we couldn't let them leave without a visit to the office dartboard. Mark took the bragging rights with a solid 74, but Lawrence put up a very respectable 68 to keep him honest!

That right there is the value of strong lender relationships. Real conversations, pragmatic underwriting decisions, and better outcomes for our clients.

Office visitor of the day award! officially claimed.

We welcomed Benjamin Thompson to the office today representing Seneca Bridging Limited. specializing in development finance of all shapes and sizes, complete with some exciting new options for up to 100% funding on works alongside the purchase price (via cross-charging).

Other BDMs definitely need to take notes, because he even rolled up with chocolate and energy drinks.

Naturally, Ben came in talking a big game on the office dartboard, claiming other commercial lenders didn't stand a chance. He walked away with a respectable score of 64, managing to beat Will Calito and Ryan Hughes from commercial lenders. Tom Herbert from MS Lending Group is still holding the crown for the highest bridging lender score, I have a feeling were going to see some strong movement on some cases very soon!
