Successful software implementation rarely fails because of the technology.

More often, it fails because the people expected to use it were never fully brought into the process.

In our latest conversation with Tim Taylor from Eyworks, we explore why stakeholder engagement is such an important part of successful change within nursery businesses.

A recurring theme is that teams are far more likely to embrace new systems when they understand:

🔸Why the change is happening
🔸How it benefits the organisation
🔸How their contribution impacts wider outcomes

Whether it's occupancy reporting, operational planning, compliance, or strategic decision-making, the quality of the information coming out of a system depends on the engagement of the people putting information into it.

For nursery operators considering new software, the implementation process should start long before training begins. Creating understanding, ownership and accountability across the team often has a greater impact than the platform itself.

Today, Sarah Wood and Carl Wetton are representing Owen Froebel at the NDNA Conference at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool, meeting nursery owners, operators and sector professionals from across the early years community.

Whether conversations are focused on growth, acquisition opportunities, succession planning or preparing for an eventual sale, the common theme is the same: owners are looking for clarity in an increasingly complex market.

That’s why we value events like these. They provide an opportunity to move beyond headlines and market commentary and have practical conversations about the challenges, opportunities and decisions facing nursery owners today.

Our stand is set up, the guides are ready, and our new Owen Froebel colouring and activity book is making its debut, adding a little creativity to the day and proving to be a great conversation starter.

If you're attending the conference, we'd be delighted to meet you and hear about your plans for the future.

A day away from the office often provides the clearest view of what's happening across the sector.

We're in Solihull today for the Nursery Owners Summit, catching up with nursery owners, operators and industry partners from across the UK.

Our stand is ready, our guides and resources are out, and we're looking forward to hearing the conversations that matter most to owners right now. From growth and succession planning to valuation and market conditions, these events offer valuable insight into where the sector is heading.

We're also pleased to be giving our new Owen Froebel colouring and activity book its first outing. Designed to bring a little creativity to conversations around nursery sales, it's already attracting plenty of attention.

A particular thank you to everyone who has already stopped by to chat this morning.

Leah will also be joining the panel discussion at 3:30pm today, sharing her perspective on the nursery sales market and the practical steps owners can take to put themselves in the strongest position for the future.

If you're attending, we'd be delighted to see you.

A nursery's value is rarely determined by one thing.

It is the result of years of investment in quality, occupancy, reputation, team stability and operational performance. Like any successful business, growth takes time, consistency and care.

What many owners don't realise is that understanding your nursery's value isn't just important when you're ready to sell. It can help shape better decisions today, identify opportunities for improvement and provide a clearer picture of where your business stands in the market.

Whether you're considering an exit in the near future or simply planning ahead, a professional valuation provides the clarity needed to make informed decisions.

If you're curious about what your nursery could be worth, we'd be happy to have a confidential conversation.

Technology continues to play an increasingly important role in how nursery groups operate.

Yet many software implementations fail to deliver their full value, not because of the system itself, but because adoption wasn't properly planned.

In our latest conversation with Tim Taylor from eyworks, we discuss the practical realities of introducing new software into nursery settings and the factors that influence long-term success.

The discussion covers:

🔸Why software adoption should be considered before implementation begins
🔸The role of internal champions and super users
🔸Training the right people at the right time
🔸Managing resistance to change
🔸Maximising value from technology investments

For nursery operators, software is rarely just a technology decision. It's an operational decision that impacts teams, processes and ultimately outcomes.

Selling a nursery is rarely just a transaction.

For most owners, it represents years of commitment, responsibility, and personal investment. Understandably, concerns around confidentiality, finding the right buyer, and navigating the process can feel overwhelming.

We're grateful to Kim Clements for sharing her experience of working with Owen Froebel:

"Owen Froebel was discreet and extremely helpful throughout the sale of my nursery.

Leah was excellent from the first moment we met. She was professional, friendly, organised, quick to respond, and always answered any questions that I had. Selling my nursery was quite stressful, but Leah guided me through the process and handled negotiations with skill, always acting in my best interests and giving me complete confidence throughout.

One of my biggest concerns going into the sale was discretion, and that was totally met. Communication and support throughout the process were excellent, and Leah went above and beyond my expectations. I felt extremely confident in Owen Froebel's knowledge of the nursery market and buyer network, and their communication with both buyers and seller added real value throughout the sale.

When the sale finally completed, it was a huge relief. My advice to any nursery owner thinking about selling but unsure where to start would be simple: go to Owen Froebel.

I would not hesitate to recommend Leah and her team at Owen Froebel to anyone looking to sell a business and in need of reliable, knowledgeable, and highly professional support."

Thank you, Kim, for your trust throughout the process and for allowing us to support you through this important milestone.

There’s a noticeable shift happening in the nursery market.

For many long-standing owners, the conversation is no longer purely about achieving the highest valuation. Increasingly, it’s about finding the right buyer. One that understands the culture, relationships and operational identity built over many years.

In this video, Leah speaks with Avi Sethi and Sunil Unadkat from the Emperor Nurseries Group about why smaller groups are becoming an attractive option for established sellers.

They discuss:
🔸Preserving legacy and nursery identity
🔸Faster, more direct decision-making
🔸Hands-on transition support
🔸The advantages of a more personal operating structure

It’s a useful perspective for owners beginning to think seriously about succession, timing and what matters beyond the transaction itself.
