When I say I have come back to work for a rest, I genuinely mean it.

On Saturday, I was that typical dad, bobbing my head along to songs I had no clue about as I took Maisie to watch Capital’s Summertime Ball.

It was a long event that started at 3.20 & finished at nearly 11, but for me, watching Maisie sing her heart out & dance non-stop, was something I’ll never forget. The biggest moment was seeing & hearing her excitement as Niall Horan sang a One Direction song.

As parents (I certainly do), we often get caught up in the rush of everyday life, but every now and then a moment comes along that you know you'll remember forever. Saturday was one of those days. It’s days/ moments like these that give me the most happiness.

This week has flown by. None of us in the office has really had a moment to let up, and for me personally, that won't be changing this weekend as I take Maisie to Wembley for the Capital Summertime Ball.

We did get a nice opportunity to pause yesterday as we received our new website headshots and some in action photos from last week's shoot with Ross Chapman from Rubber Duckers

A huge thank you to Ross & Jay for capturing the team so well. It's not often we're all in the same place at the same time, mainly due to my diary, so it's great to have some fresh photos that showcase both the people and the personalities we have at Voyage Financial Planning .

Although, I should point out that when it came to the in action shots, Megan, Samantha & Michelle seemed to conveniently all disappear from view, even now, it’s a mystery where they escaped to.

According to a recent report published by the Pensions Commission today, a staggering 15 million aren’t saving enough towards retirement & without action, this could increase to 19 million.

I explain to new and existing clients, retirement planning is about planning for your future self.

It’s about having the ability and freedom to dictate how you want your future retirement to look like. It’s about having the choice of deciding if you want to keep working or not & not having to work because you have no choice.

On average, we spend somewhere between 45-50 years working. Most get their first jobs at 15 or 16 years of age & most will retire somewhere between 62-68.

Without having a proper plan, we are walking into the unknown

The Pensions Commission has today (19 May) published its interim report on the state of retirement saving in the UK, setting out the key challenges facing the current system and where it will focus its work next.

Paris Marathon ✅
London Marathon ✅

Feeling incredibly tired. I went into London unsure how’d I cope, as my knees since Paris have been hurting and causing me pain. My knees were giving me serious issues from mile 16, yet the crowd were amazing and drove me on.

It was great to see Rebecca Brenner at the start line which enabled me not to over think it.

Maisie had a great time & enjoyed the experience and that was all thanks to atthis who gave up her day to take her round to see me as being a spectator on marathon day is no easy feat.

Number collected for the 2nd of my 2 marathons over the past 2 weeks.

This time, I’m running the TCS London Marathon tomorrow to raise money and awareness for Children with Cancer UK

This year I will have completed several professional and personal goals with several being achieved over the last few months.

Life isn’t guaranteed & I want to make sure when I look back, I have no regrets and have been able to give back to help others and

The start to the year has been extremely busy at Voyage Financial Planning, especially with our office move and bringing in Mandy Puntis who will inhance our offering with her exceptional Mortgage experience and knowledge.

I know Mandy will help take us to the next level and is the type of individual and adviser I continue to look for.

With our future/ continued growth plans in continuous motion, I wanted to thank everyone for all their hard work whilst the team got a chance to know Mandy better.
