📢 Budget 2026: The key announcements

Today’s Budget has included several announcements that could affect homeowners, first-time buyers and household finances.

🏡 Your First Home Scheme – £4.7bn in government-backed lending to support first-time buyers, launching next spring.

💷 First Time Buyer ISA – A new ISA will replace the Lifetime ISA, alongside plans to address the penalty for buyers whose chosen property exceeds the current price limit.

🏠 Help with energy bills – A £100 household energy payment for eligible households in council tax bands A–D this winter, alongside further measures to reduce energy costs.

⛽ Fuel duty – The 5p fuel duty cut will be extended until next July.

💰 Cash ISAs – The annual tax-free cash ISA allowance will remain at £20,000.

A big thank you to GLX for inviting us along to their quiz night at Carrow Road last night! ⚽

Six of the PFG team – Dominic, Victoria, Tony, George, Michal and Danny put their general knowledge to the test. Unfortunately, the quiz trophy wasn’t to be ours this time, but we had a great night for a fantastic cause.

The event raised over £7,000 for The Feed, helping support people facing food poverty in Norwich.
