Reggie has done it again. 🐰
For anyone who read my previous post about our rabbit Reggie escaping from his hutch… well, apparently he’s decided that once simply isn’t enough.
This morning, we discovered he had escaped again.
And judging by the evidence, we think he may have been out all night. 😳
Now, I don’t know what Reginald’s long-term plans are, but clearly he’s reached the conclusion that the grass is greener on the other side.
He had absolutely no exit strategy, no idea where he was going, no contingency plan and, crucially, hadn’t spoken to a mortgage adviser first. 😂
Luckily, we found him in the neighbours back garden, and he’s safely back home.
Sometimes you get to the point where you feel like you’ve outgrown your home. Maybe you need more space, a different location, a change of lifestyle, or you’ve simply decided it’s time for a move.
And whilst I’m not suggesting you need to plan your escape quite as carefully as Reggie clearly should have done… it’s always a good idea to speak to someone before you make the leap.
As a mortgage adviser, I can help you understand what your options might look like, what you could potentially borrow, and whether moving is actually achievable before you start packing boxes and disappearing into the night.
Because unlike Reggie, you really don’t want to find yourself halfway down the road wondering where you’re going to live. 😂
Thinking about leaving home? Speak to someone first.
Preferably a mortgage adviser.
Not a rabbit. 🐰🏡 PFG Mortgages

Questioning my life choices… 🫣🌳
Anyone who knows me knows that heights are NOT my thing. My military training may have taught me a lot of things, but being comfortable several metres above the ground wasn’t one of them! 😂 A few incidents involving obstacle courses and Snowden put me off.
So naturally, I decided the sensible thing to do was take on the Go Ape Adventure PLUS with my husband and my girls.
And when I say high, I mean… WHY DID WE CHOOSE THE HIGHER ONE?! 🤦‍♂️😂
There were definitely a few moments up there where I was questioning my life choices and the odd non repeatable word may have escaped.
But I did it.
Part of me wanted to prove to myself that fear doesn’t have to stop you, and it could jog on.
As a veteran, that mindset of facing the challenge, trusting your training and pushing through has stayed with me.
And as a mortgage adviser, I suppose there’s a bit of a business lesson in there too — sometimes the biggest challenges are the ones that look most daunting from the ground. You take it one step, one decision and one obstacle at a time… and eventually you get to the other side. 🏡💪 Its what I say to my clients when they are starting the process of buying a home
But most importantly, I wanted my daughters to see that Mum might be terrified of heights, but she’s not scared of a challenge! ❤️
The sense of achievement at the end was absolutely massive, despite not having control of my legs at the end 😂
And for anyone wondering, the girls skipped round, lunatics! 😆

There's something satisfying about a journey that goes to plan.
Today as a team we enjoyed a pub and paddle canoe trip along the river. Thankfully, I stayed in the canoe, enjoyed the scenery, and made it to the finish nice and dry... unlike my colleague, who ended up taking an unexpected swim! 🚣😂

Buying a home can feel a bit like navigating a river. There are twists and turns, a few unexpected obstacles, and sometimes it feels like you're about to end up in the water. The difference is that you don't have to navigate it alone, when we haven't fallen in the river, as Mortgage Advisers we can absolutely avoid the pitfalls.
My role is to help guide my clients through every stage of the mortgage journey, making the process as smooth and stress-free as possible, whether you're a first-time buyer, moving home, or remortgaging.
I'm especially proud to work with so many members of the Armed Forces and other service personnel moving into their own homes, I understand some of the unique challenges military life can bring, from postings and relocations to understanding the mortgage options available. Helping those who serve get onto the property ladder and achieve home ownership is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.

Just like on the river, having the right guide can make all the difference. And unlike my colleague's canoe trip, I will ensure you are not up the creek without a paddle!
If you're thinking about buying your first home, moving, or simply want to understand your options, I'd be happy to help.

One of the nicest bits of feedback I receive as a mortgage adviser is that clients appreciate how invested I am in helping them through the mortgage process.
This week, some amazing clients sent me gifts for my commitment, attention to detail, and determination to get things over the line.
Fast forward to dinner this evening.
I had spents ages cooking from scratch, a meal for my crazy bunch, and my eldest daughter reviewed it with all the tact of a seasoned food critic:
"It's... interesting." 🙄
A pause.
An eye roll.
Then silence.
It's a good reminder that while clients may value dedication and effort, your children remain completely unimpressed by your household achievements.
Thankfully, mortgage applications don't tend to roll their eyes at me.

Life update: by day I help people find their perfect home and navigate the glamorous world of mortgages. By night, my lop-eared dwarf rabbit Reggie — Reginald when he’s facing formal complaints — has decided our garden no longer suits his lifestyle and has burrowed an enormous escape tunnel to somewhere more desirable. Thankfully my hysterical eldest caught him before he went full Great Escape 🙄 🐇

Honestly, he only needed to ask. I literally help people move house for a living! 😆😳 Do not be fooled by his cute face, hes in trouble! PFG Mortgages

I am beyond proud of my husband for running the London Marathon — what an incredible achievement. The months of early mornings, long runs, and pure determination all led to that finish line, and watching him cross it was such an emotional moment. He’s honestly inspired me more than he probably realises 🏃‍♂️✨

It is so important to keep going, even when things feel tough or uncertain — and that applies to so many parts of life right now.
In my day-to-day work as a mortgage adviser, I’m speaking to so many people who are feeling unsure about mortgage rates and what’s happening with the economy. It can feel overwhelming, and sometimes just having a chat with someone can make all the difference.
If you’re worried, confused, or just want to understand your options a bit better, please don’t hesitate to reach out. No pressure at all — just a friendly conversation when you need it 🤍 PFG Mortgages

Pretty sure I embarrassed myself trying to pull the sword from the stone on holiday… turns out I’m not royalty after all 🤦‍♂️😂, ( I am however the Queen of my own castle)
The kids weren’t impressed either — although to be fair, they were far more interested in eating their body weight in gelato while we wandered around Venice!
It did get me thinking though…
With everything going on at the moment — rising interest rates, the news, all the uncertainty — it’s easy to get caught up in the stress of it all (trust me, I see it every day at work).
But really, it’s these moments that matter: Family time, holidays, laughter, making memories.
The rest? It’s important… but it’s there to support the life you actually want to live.

I might not be able to pull swords out of stones, but I can help you make sense of your mortgage, plan ahead, and keep things on track so you can focus on the moments that actually matter.

If you’ve been wondering what all these rate changes mean for you, drop me a message, there's always a plan forward PFG Mortgages
