A row of headstones in our village cemetery of some old Bartonians.
Were starting to get unreadable so I thought I’d give them a gentle clean.
I applied a stone treatment to them around 10 months ago, a slow working biocide, with no acid or bleach, goes on working for months and months and reactivates when it gets wet.
I use it a lot on War memorials and war graves as it’s the kindest to the stone.
Slowly but surely the stone is coming up white again, all organic growth died off, lichens, algae, mildew/black spot all removed.
I’ve treated quite a few up there now and the results are quite good.
If you want instant results this is not any good for that, patience is key 😃👍🏻❤️
I plan on applying a treatment to some more of the unreadable stones, mostly neglected ones each time I’m working up at the cemetery, just to see how they come up over the years, will keep you posted on the progress 👍🏻.
