Back to school today for Mr Zacington, my little summer school holiday lodger. Gramps mobility restrictions meant we couldn’t do as much this year but we still had lots of fun and he went on honeymoon to San Fransisco, Hawaii and alas Vegas with his mummy and daddy so had an exciting holiday.

Here’s a few bears and a fox I made back in June. This very smart lady loved her scarves and also carried a handkerchief in her pocket wherever she went so each bear has a scaled down scarf and a small breast pocket with a handkerchief tucked inside.

My graph paper hasn’t been out for a while but this week I’ve used it twice to sketch out two designs. These now need cutting out and in fabric or felt and sewing, where applicable. It’s easy to guess the themes.

Back in March 2025, I was asked by Becky’s father to source specific clothing and make Becky bear in memory of his daughter. This bear was a surprise gift for her mother who was retiring and had an ambition to complete the Camino de Santiago route. Becky bear needed to be in her rambling gear and small enough to fit into a rucksack so she could accompany her parents on the trek in August 2026. I even sourced a small rucksack and made a tiny map of the route for the bear.

Although Becky may not be here to join her parents hopefully the bear will give them comfort and keep them going to finish the trek.

Tonight I have received some photos of Becky bear on her trek across the Camino de Santiago.

Latest update

Whoop whoop - after almost a year Nigel managed to waddle behind the lawnmower. I took over after he’d done 3 strips to finish the rest as he got too tired.
Grass and garden have been very neglected this last year but hopefully they will bounce back as we have.
