🇦🇺✨ AUSTRALIA DIARIES: DAYS 3 & 4 — ADVENTURE, W**E & WILDLIFE! 🍷🦘
Wow, Western Australia… you really have spoiled us! 😍 If the first few days are anything to go by, this trip is going to be one for the memory books!
🌉 DAY 3 — BRIDGES, ZIP LINES & W**E TIME!
Leaving beautiful Rottnest Island behind, we headed back to Perth for an adventure that pushed a few comfort zones! 💪
First up, Matagarup Bridge — climbing the bridge and then ZIP LINING across the Swan River! 😱 What an exhilarating experience and such a huge achievement for everyone in the group. There were nerves, plenty of excitement and some very proud faces at the end. Honestly, what a feeling! 🙌
From adrenaline to alcohol… 🍷😂 We then headed to the gorgeous Swan Valley w**e region, where we enjoyed w**e tasting at Mandoon Estate before heading to Sandalford for lunch.
Safe to say, we ALL thoroughly enjoyed that part of the itinerary! 🤣 Let’s just say the w**e was flowing, the food was delicious and nobody needed much encouragement to sample the local produce! 🥂
We then headed to The Vines Resort (with a quick look around the Novotel resort and its golf course), where the biggest surprise was the kangaroos! 🦘 Over 100 of them roaming around the golf course — imagine trying to concentrate on your golf swing with that many locals watching you! 😂 What an incredible sight.
🌊 DAY 4 — SEAFOOD, DOLPHINS & A LITTLE HISTORY!
An early start saw us heading to Mandurah for an absolutely fantastic wild seafood cruise! 🦐🦞
This wasn’t just any boat trip — we got to haul up the crab pots ourselves before being treated to an incredible eight-course meal prepared by a fantastic onboard chef. Fresh seafood, beautiful scenery, dolphins spotted along the way… and, of course, more w**e! 🍷🐬
Honestly, what a way to spend lunchtime! Good food, great company and the most gorgeous views. Does life get much better? ❤️
Next stop was Fremantle, where we visited the historic Fremantle Prison. This place genuinely blew me away! 🤯 It’s hard to believe it remained a working prison until 1991.
Fun fact: Fremantle Prison was built by convict labour in the 1850s, and it originally housed convicts transported from Britain. It is now a UNESCO World Heritage-listed site as part of the Australian Convict Sites — a pretty incredible piece of history to walk around! 🏛️
We finished the day in true holiday style with another fantastic meal at Gage Roads Brew Co before heading back to crash into bed. After all that climbing, zip lining, eating, drinking and exploring, we definitely earned our sleep! 😂😴
✈️ NEXT STOP: THE GOLD COAST! 🌴☀️
As we get ready to fly to the Gold Coast tomorrow, I can honestly say our time in Perth has been absolutely amazing. From quokkas and Rottnest Island to bridge climbs, w**e regions, wild seafood and dolphins, Western Australia has delivered in every possible way.
The experiences, the laughs, the scenery and the memories… this is exactly what travelling is all about! ❤️🇦🇺
And we’re only just getting started! 👀🌴
