Bank of England Base Rate Held at 3.75%

The Bank of England has kept the Base Rate at 3.75% today.

So what does that actually mean for your mortgage?

Tracker mortgage? No change to your rate as a result of today’s decision.

Fixed rate coming to an end? Today’s decision doesn’t mean you should sit back and wait. Mortgage rates can move independently of the Base Rate.

Thinking about moving or remortgaging? It’s worth looking at your options sooner rather than later rather than trying to predict what happens next.

The big question now is… when will we see the next rate cut?

Recently, even the clients with mainstream lending are falling foul to adverse credit limiting their options when it comes to the end of their fixed periods. And those who have an opportunity to re-fix with a new lender are burying their heads until it is too late.
