🏡 How much deposit do I need to purchase a residential house?

In the UK, the deposit for a residential house is usually a percentage of the property price.

💰 Minimum Deposit – Most lenders require at least 5% of the property price, however some lenders do go as low as 2.5% deposit.

📈 Does Size Matter? – If you put down more of a deposit, your monthly mortgage payments could be lower, your interest rates could be lower, and you may have more mortgage options from lenders.

📋 Other Costs to Consider – Besides your deposit, you may need in the region of £3,000 - £5,000 for solicitor fees, surveys, moving costs. Also consider you may need to pay Stamp Duty.

⚠️ Your home may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. A mortgage is a loan secured against your property.

We’re incredibly proud of our colleagues who took on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike in support of Macmillan Cancer Support 💚

Covering 27 miles along the stunning coastline, they showed real determination, teamwork, and grit — pushing through the distance, the elements, and more than a few blisters along the way — to complete the challenge and raise an amazing £1,710 for an incredible cause.

This money will help Macmillan continue providing vital care and support to people living with cancer and their families❤️‍🩹.
