Don't miss our next IATEFL Monthly Professional Development webinar this Saturday; 'Volunteering Across Borders: Online EFL Support for Non-Native Learners in Conflict Zones', presented by Fahd Ali Ahmed Abdulwahab AlFatesh.

This session presents a personal case study on how volunteer English language support has been provided to learners in conflict zones such as Yemen and Sudan. Drawing from years of informal education and outreach via social media, the presenter explains how non-formal online teaching can reach underserved populations. .

Participants will leave with practical, low-cost methods and a clearer understanding of how educators can make a transnational impact without institutional support. This talk is especially relevant for teachers, volunteers, and Special Interest Groups focused on global issues and equity in ELT.

Don't miss your chance to take part in our upcoming IATEFL Early Career Chat on Teaching Grammar with Yulia Efremova (English for Speakers of Other Languages Special Interest Group; ESOLSIG), taking place next Saturday 6th June at 2:00PM (UK time).

Designed especially for early-career teachers, the session invites participants to share ideas, build confidence, and discover simple, practical approaches that can enhance everyday teaching practice. Join us in this interactive session where we can look at how the most effective classrooms integrate grammar into meaningful contexts—such as speaking and writing tasks—rather than teaching it in isolation.
