Eight of our team are walking 13.1 miles across the Peak District this Saturday.

It starts in Edale. Andrew Dix, Mark Firkin, Morgan Wilson, Keelan Heath, Mortgages with Tom at Future Perfect Financial Solutions, Alex Mullen-Hughes, Mike Mullen-Hughes and Janine Larner are taking on the Openwork Foundation Peak District Challenge to raise money for charities working in our communities. Our target is £2,500.

Last year's challenge helped fund a £7,500 grant to Beating Time, which supports people leaving prison to find work and rebuild their lives. This year the Openwork Foundation is supporting Zoe's Place Baby Hospice in Coventry among others.

No — it can actually be a sensible time to start preparing.
Beginning the conversation early can give you time to:
✓ Review how your circumstances have changed
✓ Compare staying with your current lender against moving elsewhere
✓ Check your current deal for any early repayment charges
✓ Understand what your future payments could look like
✓ Get any documents organised before they are needed

That’s 13.1 miles through the Peaks — so it’s definitely going to be a tough day on the legs! But every mile will be worth it if we can help raise money for such a brilliant cause.

3 weeks after putting protection in place, he fractured his knee playing football.
A client of mine had recently gone back self-employed after spending a period in employed work.
With a mortgage to pay, a family to support and regular weekend football, we had a conversation about what would happen if he couldn't work.
Like many people, he'd never had protection before because he never thought he'd need it.
Together we arranged a combination of cover to help protect his income and provide support if an accident affected his ability to work.
Just 3 weeks later, he suffered a serious knee injury, including ACL damage and a fracture while playing football.
As a result, he received:
✅ £2,000 from fracture cover

🏠Congratulations to Ben and Sadie — acting quickly helped them avoid a £134 monthly increase.

I first sat down with my friends Ben and Sadie at the end of February to discuss buying their first home and help them understand their position.
By the middle of March, they’d had an offer accepted.

We submitted their mortgage application on Sunday 22 March, during an exceptionally busy period for mortgage applications.

Rates increased the following day, but because everything was prepared and their application had already been submitted, they secured their chosen deal beforehand.

Compared with the alternative available afterward, that meant a difference of £134 per month.
