Team spotlight: Meet Matt Ward!
With more than 15 years of experience advising high-net-worth individuals and families, Matt takes a holistic approach to wealth management, helping clients navigate everything from investments and retirement planning to tax, estate, and charitable giving strategies.
We recently caught up with Matt to learn more about what drives him, what inspires him, and how he spends his time outside the office.
1. What's your go-to coffee or tea order?
Most days, it's a regular drip coffee with a splash of milk. But I enjoy a latte every now and then.
2. What originally drew you to Anderson & Morden Private Wealth, and what's kept you here?
I've known Chad and Jim for more than a decade, both professionally and personally. From the beginning, I could see how deeply they cared about their clients and the people on the team. That really resonated with me, and it's why I'm proud to be part of Anderson & Morden today.
3. Many of our clients are business owners, professionals, and families with complex financial lives. How does your role help make things more manageable for them?
I help clients navigate important decisions with clarity and confidence. By taking the time to understand their goals, values, and priorities, I can simplify complex situations and help them make informed decisions.
4. Is there a book, podcast, movie, or quote that's influenced how you approach your work or life?
Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential had a surprising impact on me. It reinforced the importance of preparation, attention to detail, teamwork, and making people feel well cared for, which are principles I try to bring to every client relationship.
5. Which part of your work feels the most meaningful to you?
Helping clients make informed decisions using the experience I've gained over the years is incredibly rewarding. I also value learning from my colleagues and sharing knowledge with the team.
6. If you had to describe the Anderson & Morden Private Wealth team or culture in three words, what would you choose?
Caring. Collaborative. Trusted.
7. What’s a small routine, habit, or simple pleasure that helps you reset during busy days?
I like staying active. For me, getting to the gym has always been a great way to reset, unwind and clear my head.
8. How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
You'll usually find me in the garden seeing what's growing, what needs pruning, and what's ready to eat. My motto is that you can never have too many tomato plants. When I'm not at home, I enjoy spending time at the lake with family and friends.
At Anderson & Morden Private Wealth, we believe great advice starts with understanding what matters most to our clients. Matt's experience, thoughtful approach, and commitment to helping others make him an invaluable part of our team, and we're so thankful to have him as part of the Anderson & Morden family.
