Today, on World Food Day, we're reflecting on how collective action can help address food insecurity in Canada and around the world.

At Equitable, giving back has always been part of who we are. Over the past two years, we've contributed $500,000 to programs that improve access to fresh produce, nutritious food and essential food support services in Waterloo Region and across Canada.

We encourage everyone to support organizations addressing food insecurity, whether through a donation, volunteering or raising awareness. Together, we can help ensure more Canadians have access to the food they need. đź’™

Our Equitable employees were invited to wear an orange shirt or pin on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation as a sign of support and solidarity. 🧡

On behalf of everyone who wore orange on September 30, Equitable is making a donation to Crow Shield Lodge, an Indigenous-led organization dedicated to supporting healing, cultural connection and community well-being.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we honour the survivors of residential schools, remember the children who never returned home, and acknowledge the families and communities who continue to feel the lasting impacts.

We're honoured to share artwork from Mushkego Cree (Treaty 9) urban mixed ancestry artist and illustrator, Hawlii Pichette (Instagram: .iskwew), who currently resides in London, Ontario.

Through learning, reflection, and action, we all play a role in advancing reconciliation.

En cette Journée nationale de la vérité et de la réconciliation, nous rendons hommage aux survivants des pensionnats autochtones et nous nous souvenons des enfants qui ne sont jamais rentrés chez-eux. Nous rendons aussi hommage aux familles et aux communautés qui continuent de porter les traces de ces événements.
