This is probably one of the most common questions I get:

“Should I wait… or should I move now?”

And the honest answer is, there’s no one right answer for everyone.

Because this decision isn’t just about rates or headlines.

It’s about youm your finances, your comfort level, your plans, and what your life actually looks like right now.

When I work through this with clients, we’re not guessing or predicting the market.

We’re looking at things like:

What would your monthly payments actually feel like?

Are you stretching or still living comfortably?

How stable is your income right now?

Are you planning to stay long enough for the decision to make sense?

Sometimes the right answer is moving forward.

Sometimes it’s waiting.

Most people treat their mortgage renewal like a form they just need to sign.

It shows up, the rate looks “fine,” and it feels easier to move on than question it.

But this is actually one of the few moments where you have real leverage.

You can renegotiate.

You can switch lenders.

You can adjust your mortgage to better fit your life now, not when you first got it.

And a lot can change in a few years.

This is the part of my work that never feels like “just a mortgage” 🐾

Because behind the numbers, there are real second chances happening.

Lottie, Juniper, and Dolce all found their forever homes and moments like this are made possible through the support that comes from the work I do every day.

Three dogs who are now safe, loved, and exactly where they’re meant to be.

Thank you to the families who said yes, and to everyone behind the scenes who helped them get there.

This is why Brick & Bark exists, homes for people, and second chances for dogs.

A lot of people assume if their income isn’t “straightforward,” their options are limited.

And to be fair, at a big bank, it can feel that way.

But the reality is, income isn’t one-size-fits-all.

Whether you’re self-employed, earning commission, or have multiple streams coming in, there are often ways to make it work, it just needs to be looked at properly.

That’s a big part of what I do.
