Yes, this is actually me as a baby. The real deal.

As you can see, I’ve been doing this for a very long time!

After more than 28 years in the mortgage industry, I know that your mortgage deserves attention, good advice and proper hand-holding—long before you make a move.

Whether you’re buying your first home, moving up, downsizing, refinancing or preparing for a renewal that’s one, two or even three years away, let’s have a conversation.

Rates have changed, and depending on your current mortgage, there may be an opportunity to make a change before renewal. We’ll look at the rate, the penalty and the overall numbers to determine whether it actually makes sense.

Sometimes the right decision is to make a move. Sometimes it’s to stay exactly where you are.

Let’s do a mortgage checkup.

Standing in a home that was built with precision, intention, and care made me think about what home is supposed to feel like — not just a place we sleep, but a place we recharge, live, and build our lives from.

This video is for two groups of people back home:

If you’re renewing your mortgage this year — please don’t sign blindly.
If you love your home and neighbourhood but want to improve it — planning matters more than most people realize.

After 27 years in mortgages, I’ve learned this:
The biggest financial mistakes usually happen before people even realize they’re making them.

And the best outcomes?
They’re usually decided long before construction starts or renewal papers get signed.

I call this my Silver Crown phase — experience, truth, and keeping it real.

If this resonates, I’d love you to watch the full video on YouTube.

February may be short, but it has a way of holding a lot of heart.
Love shows up quietly sometimes — in moments, messages, memories, and yes… sweet surprises.

Here’s to noticing them. 🤍

Inflation in Canada edged higher in December — but not for the reasons most headlines imply.

This article breaks down what’s actually driving the latest CPI numbers, why food prices remain elevated, and what it means for interest rates and housing going forward.

If you’re trying to make sense of mixed messages around inflation, rate policy, and the housing market — this is a worthwhile read.

As always, clarity matters more than noise.

CPI Inflation in Canada Rose to 2.4% in December The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose 2.4% on a year-over-year basis in December, following a 2.2% increase in the prior two months. The year-over-year acceleration in the all-items CPI was driven by the temporary Goods and Services Tax (GST)/Harmonized...

You’ve probably heard it said that the economy is “resilient.” But if your mortgage, property taxes, insurance, groceries, and everyday bills all feel heavier, you’re not imagining things. In this video, I talk about what resilience really means at a system level — and how costs quietly shift onto households through policy decisions and economic language. This isn’t about fear. It’s about awareness, asking better questions, and understanding how global, federal, provincial, and municipal decisions affect life at your kitchen table. I’m in my 28th year in the mortgage business.
Back in my 2nd and 3rd year I learned how to build my business by referral, meaning the people I worked with, whether a borrower, real estate agent, lawyer, or financial planner, trusted me enough to send someone else who could use my help.

That trust has literally put food on my table for almost three decades.
It’s the most humbling compliment to disappear into my work, love what I do, and build a business that never depended on algorithms.

I believe this is the real secret: disappear doing what you’re committed to or what you love and let your service speak for itself.

Now I’m ready to take everything I’ve learned and give it away so I can leave the world better than I found it.

For those who know me, I like to keep things real. I’ve had a YouTube channel for awhile now but been consistently using it to post my weekly videos. I haven’t been promoting it, but I think it could be of value. So I’m sharing.

I'm not surprised. It was just a matter of time. While direct to consumer "sounds great," the reality is that most people don't know the ins and outs of mortgage policy and therefore need more support than one thinks. Mortgages are not just about rates. Different lenders have different rules, different "risk policies" and therefore, different rates. It's worth hiring a professional.

Rocket Mortgage Canada is shutting down its lending business, with operations expected to wind down by the end of June.
