If you don’t follow them, water damage claims from frozen pipes can be denied.
Typical requirements:
1️⃣ Daily checks by a competent person
2️⃣ Turn off + drain the water
3️⃣ Keep the heat on

Don’t forget to put your winter tires on.

Yeah, the insurance discount is tiny (about 1% - And yes — most insurance companies require they be on from Nov 1 to May 1), but that’s not the point.

Winter tires actually grip, actually stop, and actually keep you out of trouble when the weather turns ugly.
