You’ve built something that takes patience, hard work, and planning 🌾

And farming rarely follows a predictable schedule. One season can look very different from the next.

At Kindred, we understand that behind every operation are real decisions around equipment, cash flow, harvest timing, and planning for the future of your farm. Our Account Managers understand the realities behind the numbers and work with you through every season, not just at renewal time. We also offer programs like AgriInvest and practical tools that support day-to-day operations.

Because a good financial partner does not just look at your balance sheet. They understand your season 💛

What if your everyday banking could help make an impact close to home?

At Kindred, everyday banking means more than transactions. It’s the savings accounts, debit purchases, mortgages, loans, and financial decisions that are part of daily life - and how those everyday choices can contribute to stronger communities.

We focus our social impact on two areas where we can make a meaningful difference: housing stability and food security. 🏡🌾

This includes supporting access to safe, affordable housing and helping communities build stronger, more sustainable food systems. It’s part of how we connect values with finances, so your money can contribute to real change in the places you live and work.

This work continues to grow, with new partnerships and ongoing support for organizations making a difference across Ontario.

For the 8th year in a row, the Kindred Credit Union Centre for Peace Advancement (CPA) hosted a systems thinking research competition, known as Map the System. Open to students at the University of Waterloo, Map the System is global competition that uses systems thinking as a guiding approach to explore some of the most complex issues facing the world today. Kindred has been pleased to support this important work that emphasizes the importance of understanding a problem before we try to find or build solutions.

The overall winners and recipients of the People’s Choice Award for Best Systems Map was Unravelling the Femininomenon by Sadia Mohammad, Zoraiz Sheikh, and Chloe Stroh. Their teammates, Bria Wong-Armstrong and Prishaa Rajalathan, represented their team in person and presented on how occupational gender-shifts trigger industry devaluation. The team chose this topic because they wanted to explore an experience they all shared—being a woman in the workplace.

Prishaa and Bria were presented the Overall Winner Award by Kindred team members Sheryl Ramseyer and Vicky Matthews, along with Paul Heidebrecht from the CPA. In early July, the team will be going to the University of Oxford to represent Waterloo at the Map the System Global Finals!
