❤️🩹🚨 these two pictures of myself were taken three hours apart! I was two days into a fantastic sunny vacation feeling great, when out of no where I started to feel pain in my stomach. Fast forward two hours I am on my way to a foreign hospital feeling so weak and sick. When I arrived to the hospital the first topic of conversation with the staff was money. I needed to be examined, bloodwork, vitals, CT scan etc. but before any of that could happen the hospital needed to be paid. Within the first hour at the hospital the total amount paid was $12,000 USD. After the initial tests it was determined that I had to be admitted to the hospital and needed an emergency surgery. Before the Doctor would operate the hospital needed to be paid another $25,000 USD. This is where I will mention the importance of TRAVEL INSURANCE. I had everything in place before my vacation in case the impossible happened. The impossible happened! I called the emergency travel number and the insurance company took over from there. Travel insurance, is in most cases inexpensive and it is worth every penny. Because I had complications with my surgery and extremely low blood pressure I had to remain in the hospital longer. Once I was stable, my travel insurance covered an air ambulance to pick me up and bring me back to Canada. I am thankful to be home and recovering. Thank you to everyone who has reached out with kind words, love, and support.
If you have a trip booked this winter or are thinking of travelling to another country, reach out to me for travel insurance.
