The Bank of Canada has held its overnight rate at 2.25%, choosing to leave rates unchanged amid ongoing global uncertainty.

While Canada’s economy remains soft with slower growth and a cooling housing market, inflation is still being impacted by higher energy prices and geopolitical tensions. The Bank continues to target long-term price stability and will adjust rates if needed as conditions evolve.

Grateful, proud, and a little bit in disbelief ✨

Last year I ranked in the Top 7% of mortgage brokers in Canada and what makes this even more meaningful to me is the journey behind it.

I made the decision to switch brokerages halfway through the year and built these numbers from that point forward. And somewhere in the middle of it all… I welcomed my baby into the world.

This season has taught me so much about resilience, focus, and what’s possible when you stay committed even when life is full in the best and busiest ways.

Today the Bank of Canada kept its benchmark interest rate unchanged at 2.25%, projecting a slow and steady economic recovery following the impact of U.S. tariffs.

However, uncertainty surrounding the upcoming review of the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement and rising geopolitical risks continues to weigh on the central bank’s outlook.
