Australia’s property market softened again in August, with national home values falling 0.9% and sitting 3.6% below their March peak.
Higher borrowing costs, reduced borrowing capacity and weaker buyer demand are all playing a part, while more listings are giving buyers greater choice and negotiating power.
So what could this mean for you?
• Buyers: Less competition could create opportunities.
• Homeowners: Changing values may affect refinancing, selling or equity plans.
• Investors: Rental yields are improving, but higher holding costs still matter.
