A great morning at the MFAA Women in Finance Breakfast in Brisbane today. ☕️
It was wonderful to connect with so many women from across the finance industry, but one of my biggest takeaways from the morning was the discussion around financial hardship and financial coercion.
As finance brokers, we often get an insight into our clients' financial lives that others may not see. That puts us in a unique position to recognise when something doesn't look quite right.
Today was a valuable reminder of the importance of knowing how to recognise some of those signs, ask the right questions and, most importantly, understand how we can appropriately support clients who may be experiencing financial hardship or coercion.
Financial hardship is experience often, by men and women. It's important to know you are NOT alone, help is available.
A really worthwhile event and a great reminder that being a good broker isn't always just about finding the right loan — sometimes it's about recognising when a client may need a different kind of support. ❤️
