As we come to the end of October, recognised globally as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we are reminded of the importance of raising awareness, encouraging early detection and supporting those affected by breast cancer.
According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer remains one of the leading health challenges affecting women globally. In 2024 alone, approximately 2.4 million women were diagnosed with breast cancer, while 694,000 people lost their lives to the disease.
These statistics remind us that breast cancer is not just a global challenge, it is a reality affecting individuals, families and communities around us.
As an organisation with over 43 branches nationwide, MoneyMart Finance took the initiative to take breast cancer awareness beyond the office and into the communities we serve. We went into the streets, workplaces and small markets, engaging women in their everyday environments, particularly those who may have limited access to health information.
Through these community engagements, we sought to raise awareness, share important information and encourage women to prioritise their health through regular breast checks and seeking medical advice. We believe that access to information, awareness and early detection are important steps towards saving lives.
As we conclude Pink October, we encourage our entrepreneurs, clients, employees and members of our communities to prioritise their health, seek medical advice and get screened or examined as recommended by healthcare professionals.
Let us continue to break the silence, support those affected and encourage one another to take proactive steps towards early detection.
Remember, breast cancer awareness should not end in October. Make your health a priority because early detection, timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment can save lives.
