Know what’s normal for your breasts and be aware of changes such as a new lump, changes in shape or size, skin changes or unusual ni**le discharge. If something doesn’t feel right, speak to a healthcare professional.

𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲'𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘁𝗵: catching a health issue early is almost always cheaper – and safer – than treating it later.

A blood pressure check, a cholesterol test, and a cancer screening: these are small, routine steps that can prevent serious illness, costly hospital admissions, and long-term complications.

So why aren't more people using them? Because only around 15% of South Africans have traditional medical scheme cover. For the rest, these preventative benefits simply aren't accessible – and the cost of that gap shows up later, in worse health outcomes and higher treatment costs.

The encouraging part: this is changing. Health insurance uptake is growing fast, driven by rising healthcare costs and a new generation of affordable, digitally enabled cover that's built for how South Africans want to access healthcare today.
