When in doubt, don’t click or respond. Call the person directly. Don’t utilize the phone number provided in the email, text message or mailed letter.

Cryptocurrency scams can involve using a physical crypto machine (looks like an ATM machine or crypto kiosks). The fraudsters trick victims into depositing cash into the machines to instantly transfer the funds into untraceable criminal wallet. Law-enforcement considers crypto ATMs to be the “getaway car” for modern financial fraudsters. Don’t deposit into these machines!

Fake remote job offer scams involve fraudsters posting attractive, quick hire, remote jobs on legitimate platforms. Once hired, victims are sent a counterfeit check to buy home office equipment, only to be asked to send a portion of the funds back before the check inevitably bounces.
